I have a little rust on my car, do you know how much it would cost to have removed and refinished? Is there a product that I could use to do it myself, that works great and is fairly simple? I just want the rust gone so it doesn’t get worse until i get the money to have it finished and repainted. Any advice and experience would be greatly appreciated.

Lemon juice is also an effective rust removal for concrete. Simply apply an undiluted lemon juice on the surface that needs to be cleaned. It is important that you scrub the surface as thorough as possible before you rinse it with water.

However, if you wish to make use of readily made rust removal products then you will observe that most of them are available in powder form. If this is so then you must make a paste out them before trying to apply them on any rust affected areas. Be careful with what you are doing, the acidic substance must be neutralized properly in order to prevent any further damage from taking place.

Follow the instructions listed on the package in order to prevent any untoward incidents. Keep in mind also that most of these rust removers are created with harmful chemicals such as oxalic acid. Researches revealed that this chemical is 1000 times stronger than the acetic acid hence care must be employed in its use.

The following are steps for Rust Removal Application:

1. Clean the item you removed from your storage area. Clean it to remove dirt oil and corroding rust particles.

2. Rinse and Immerse if using water based remover or spray directly if you are using a rust removal canned sprayer check to see progress from time to time.

3. Once it’s done and you see that the rust is ready to detach on the surface it got stuck with, rinse it with water and check for residues. Once this process is done, air it to dry.

4. If it still has residues, re-dip it to the solution and or repeat process again. Once its done and have aired it you can already apply a coating. A suggestion would be to apply a rust protection coat first before applying protective paint so that the next time you store it, no oxidation will occur, thus having it rust free.

5. Air your rusted materials to dry. If the material is deeply rusted, it may require overnight submersion to rust your rust removal product. Let item air dry after spraying. Deeply rusted parts (5mm or deeper) may require overnight soaking.

6. It is not so bad at all! Even an elementary kid can remove rusts for you by doing this procedure. Once again you get to enjoy your stored rusted metal pliers, screw drivers and or metal pans.

I live in Wisconsin (salty roads during winter) and I own a white ’97 Nissan Sentra that is starting to show a little corrosion especially around the doors and tire areas. I’ve hand washed/waxed and automatic washed/waxed over the years and nothing really seemed to prevent it.

I was wondering if there are any miraculous rust removal kits of any sort, prices would also be very helpful. Or even some masking products.

Usually, the type rust you’re talking about starts from the inside and works it’s way out.

Once that type of cance starts, the only way to fix it is to replace the rust…with metal.

If you were to be able to look at the inside of the panels that you see rust on, you would see that the entire inside of the panel is rusted and that you are just now seeing it from the painted/protected side.

With that being said, there’s not a ‘miraculous’ product out there for your needs outside of getting extensive boddy work done, or just buying a new car.

You’d be suprised at how miraculous a newer car can be for the ailes of an older one.
